Eligibility for a Professional Year Program in Australia
The Professional Year (PY) is a 44-week program including a 12-week internship. The Requirements are as Below:
For Professional Year in IT (ACS):
- Education: Australian Bachelor's or Master's IT degree.
- Visa: Valid (or applied for) Subclass 485 visa with at least 12 months validity.
- English:PTE Academic score of 50 (no band less than 50) OR IELTS score of 6.0 (no band less than 6.0) from a test taken within the last 3 years, or equivalent.

Professional Year: Accounting & Engineering Requirements
Beyond IT, Professional Year programs are also available for Accounting and Engineering graduates. Here's a quick overview of the specific entry criteria for each:
Professional Year in Accounting (SMIPA)
To be eligible for the Accounting Professional Year, you need to:
- Education: Have completed a recognized Accounting Bachelor's or Master's degree in Australia.
- Visa: Hold, or be in the process of applying for, a Graduate Visa (subclass 485) with a minimum of 12 months validity.
- English: Achieve a minimum PTE Academic overall score of 50 (with no band less than 50), or an IELTS score of 6.0 (with no band less than 6.0) in all four competencies from a test taken within the last three years, or an equivalent English language test score.

Professional Year in Engineering
For the Engineering Professional Year, the requirements are:

Education: Possess a recognized Bachelor's or Master's qualification in Engineering from an Australian Institution.
- Note: For Training Visa holders (subclass 476), an Australian qualification is not required.
- English: Obtain an IELTS overall score of 6.0 (with no band less than 5.0 in any component), or a PTE Academic overall score of 50 (with no band less than 36), or an equivalent English language test score.
- Visa: Hold a Bridging Visa or a Skilled Graduate Temporary Visa (subclass 485).
- Assessment: Possess a Migration Skills Assessment outcome letter from Engineers Australia.
